About Katie Newman, ARNP
With her passion for patient care and advanced training in urgent care and disease management, certified nurse practitioner Katherine P. Newman, A-GNP, NP-C can help patients with a wide variety of ailments. She treats patients at Family Medical Specialists of Florida, PLC, in Plant City, Florida.
Katherine completed her undergraduate degree in nursing through Auburn University Montgomery School of Nursing. She then went on to earn her master’s degree in nursing the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing. Katherine received additional certification in basic life support, as well as adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Katherine served as a medical assistant and a certified emergency vehicle (ambulance) operator. Throughout her professional career, Katherine has held challenging and rewarding nurse practitioner positions in trauma care and surgery, geriatric care, and family medicine.
Katherine’s comprehensive background in emergency care, combined with her knowledge of preventive medicine and disease management, give her a solid foundation for caring for patients of all ages.
